The Way of the Vazi
A Vazi, denizen of VAZ1, has an easy way to measure his privacy skills.
There are Ten Suggestions. The voluntary tasks, if acted upon, will
help you to become reasonably secure in your communications and online computer activity.
Give yourself one point for each of the following activities you satisfy.
- Surf anonymously at least 50% of the time.
We now have three anonymizers to choose from on our main page.
- Download PGP to your computer, and generate a PGP keypair.
- Create a Nym in the VAZ1 People Zone.
- Use encrypted email for 10% or more of your messages.
- Create and fund a Tipjar account; tip some poets and musicians
- Create an org or business VE in the VAZ1 VE Zone.
- Use PGP for at least 5% of your messages
- Create and fund an e-gold account
- Start an online business
- Make money with your online business
These are just ideas to 'get the ball rolling'. E.g. If we decide to standardize on e-gold, then
we probably wouldn't use Tipjar. But you get the idea: A measure of cyber-skills could be a very
useful thing. Not just for motivation, but also to help denizens evaluate the security risk in
dealing with (and trading with) other people.
As usual, tell us what you think about this on our bulletin board.
* We consider LFC a great idea, and admire the founders for what they are doing.
The more Virtual Automous Zones there are, the more likely it is for some to succeed. We will blatently 'steal' their good ideas; hopefully we will come
up with good ideas that they can use. Like all good capitalists of integrity, they welcome
competition. After all, if they become successful, the last thing they want is to be the sole
target and focus of the wrath of jealous nation-states!
