The VAZ1 "Game Plan"

The idea of a VAZ1 is to put together an online "secure" zone. Instead of taking a proprietary approach like Laissez Faire City*, we want to use "off the shelf" components to create one. Some old-timers may remember what IBM clones did to Apple in the early computer days. This is good analogy for what we want to do. Let's look at the services a VAZ needs, and some off-the shelf components that could be used.

Please discuss this on our bulletin board.

Anonymous Surfing IDZap, SafeWeb, Anonymizer
Email Hushmail, Freedom, Ziplip, Lokmail, Steganos ...
Strong Crypto PGP
Community Center VAZ1 Bulletin Board
Digital Currency E-gold, Tipjar, Oakington, Paypal ...
Contract Administration VAZ1 Bulletin Board Primitive stage: VAZ1 forum used as "indelible record", PGP signatures formalize contracts Later: More sophisticated boards, specialized software
Online Market VAZ1 Virtual Entity zone. (not yet implemented)
Freedom Technology VAZ1, Doing Freedom!, Zola Times, cypherpunk sites
Other Services Please give your ideas on our bulletin board.

We need to decide which components to standardize on. If denizens of VAZ all use different encrypted mail then we'll have the Tower of Babel; if we all use different digital currency, then we can't trade with each other. This is something that can be discussed on our bulletin board, and hopefully come to a consensus. In addition to providing adequate security and privacy, the services we choose should be multi-platform, i.e. they run on a wide variety of computers and operating systems.

As usual, tell us what you think about this on our bulletin board.

back to VAZ main page * We consider LFC a great idea, and admire the founders for what they are doing. That doesn't mean we won't compete with them. The more Virtual Automous Zones there are, the more likely it is for some to succeed. We will blatently 'steal' their good ideas; hopefully we will come up with good ideas that they can use. Like all good capitalists of integrity, they welcome competition. After all, if they become successful, the last thing they want is to be the sole target and focus of the wrath of jealous nation-states!
